About

Hello and welcome to my Blog, my name is Tom lea and I currently work in the engineering sector where I try to automate myself out of a job.

Born in Hong Kong I moved to the UK in the early 90s with my parents who originate from the UK, and I now live in Warwickshire UK.

I was introduced to computers at around the age of 5 thanks to my dad who was determined that I wouldn’t be consumed by playing console games. I was lucky enough to inherit an Amiga 500 followed by 600 where my passion for technology really started to take place.

My thirst for knowledge continued and my first windows computer was a x386 66mhz PC running windows 3.1, by this time my passion became useful and I would type up invoice’s for my parents company and learnt my way around the windows OS.

At the age of 12 I built my first PC which contained the magical 166mhz intel CPU with MMX technology, it took me some time as unlike these days not everything was colour coded. Once I started secondary school it was clear that I would one day I would work in the Technology Industry. This was not because I was more skilled than my classmates but more so that I could use computing to counteract my dyslexia which effected all the other academic subjects.

In my teenage years I found the academic side of I.T easy and was frustrated with its simplicity so decided to carry on teaching myself the more in-depth side of Hardware and became an avid tester of new hardware and was well into the overclocking scene.

After university things didn’t go to plan and i didn’t actually get into the industry until the age of 26 however the decision at 26 to follow my passion and not the money road is something I do not regret, I still have the same passion for technology  as I did when I was a child.

In my current role I am responsible for SCCM and Endpoint solutions within the Microsoft modern workspace.

In 2016 I became Microsoft Certified technology specialist in Administrating and deploying system centre 2012 configuration manager.

Automation doesn’t stop when I stop work, I currently use tasker and Samsung Smart Things to create a smart home and car.

Feel free to contact me on any issue you may be having when using my Blog , the material is based on my environment and therefore issues may arise from using my guides so i would always advise testing in a lab environment first. Also i do take inspiration from others so if you haven’t been credited and feel you should be please let me know. As for myself, if you want to credit me then you can but its not necessary.
